After JCCS, I was waiting for my new builder, Rival Autoworks, to give me an update. I messaged him and he sent me a video of shit that I’ve been WAITING FOR.
My previous builder for some odd reason was lazy on my engine (I kept up with payments and begged him almost weekly). He kept stringing me along and for most of 2022, he kept asking me to get the VCT drain fitting and turbo oil return.
- I am no engine builder.
- I don’t have the resources my former builder HAS.
I was puzzled about it, but I didn’t want my car to be delayed, so I tried my best to find what he wanted and I could. Rival Auto works, IMMEDIATELY ordered the stuff I needed.
I can’t believe this engine is truly so close to being complete. Rival Autoworks completed most of the things that Marco/SR20store let. Example was the camshafts with no assembly lube.
Also ordered:
- Link ECU
- New Wiring Specialties harness
To take it a step forward, we decided to get the car together in the near future.
- Cut extended GK Tech Inner tie rods to correct length.
- Install GK Tech engine bay brake lines.
- Install GK Tech Power steering lines (I am missing pretty much the brackets, pump and high pressure hose).
- Get transmission parts
- Mate the transmission and engine together and drop in.
In preparing for that, I know I needed to get some transmission items.
- ARP Pressure Plate bolts kit ($18.49)
- ARP Fly Wheel bolts kit ($20.75)
- EPP Bellhousing bolts ($31.67)
- Pilot bushing ($15.28)
- RB25det Clutch Slave Cylinder ($56)
- RB25det motor mount bolt kit ($35.98)
- OEM Clutch fork kit (Fork, Dust boot, and throw out bearing – $144)
- OEM 30501-S0284 Sleeve for Throw out bearing ($62)
Rival also ordered a few things for the fuel rail.
- Radium Fuel Pulse Dampener kit (20-0176)
- 8an ORB fitting
- Earls 759156erl 6an 90 degree to 5/16 Vapor guard hose fitting.
There are a few things more, but I hope I can figure out all the small stuff down the line.
