Day 5 – Nagasaki Adventure
It’s been 3 years since I spent time with Noguchi-san. The last time, we were in Sasebo, at a parking lot car meet in 2020.
I had missed the last train and Noguchi-san helped me taking me to Sasebo station and the hotel next to it. He waited until 1am, so that I would get a discount!
I woke up early and headed to Hakata station’s Kamome relay express. I guess Saga’s government didn’t want to build a Shinkansen track going through there. The relay Kamome takes you to Takeo Onsen station, then you board NishiKyushu Shinkansen Kamome!!! New Shinkansen and new part of Nagasaki station for it.
Anyways, Noguchi-san messaged me saying he was outside. He picked me up in his old Hijet!!!
A quick snap of old bridges in Nagasaki city.
To the shop in the mountains
Noguchi-san’s shop is in the mountains. So we went there and It was cool to visit again (I was back there in 2018). This time, there was quite a few cool cars!!
Secret base 1
Then we started heading towards Secret Base 1 again. I went back in 2019.
We stopped by a Japanese hamburger place, but a surprise in the window!
Noguchi-san gave me a tour around Nagasaki to Saikai Bridge and Hario Towers. Saikai bridge has a dark history of suicide jumpings.
Hario Towers were built 100 years ago. Stopped being used after WWII.
Rusty Crusty cars
Throughout the day, Noguchi-san would show me rusted abandoned cars.
Finally, we called it a day. Thanks Noguchi-san.I also was able to see a lot of Nagasaki that I wouldn’t normally have! It was a gorgeous day and Nagasaki was very beautiful!!!
