Day 5 – Nagoya Nights
My 1st trip in 2001, Nagoya was on of my places that I visited. I stayed with my cousin and he took me around. But I didn’t appreciated it as much as I should have. I have stopped by in the past to meet with Sugiyama-san at Tajimi.
I never really explored Nagoya though, so this night I decided I needed to. Once I got to Nagoya, I checked in my business hotel and then headed out. I made an error as I thought I’d have to meet Sugiyama-san that night, but it was an error. I was a day ahead. Not only that, I also didn’t book the next night (which is in Nagoya).
I never appreciated how big Nagoya station was only because I jumped trains here and not really go outside. The 3 buildings attached to Nagoya station were massive!
Once I got to Nagoya Castle, I didn’t dare try to go on the grounds because it was just too creepy at night. Even walking around the Castle, which I did, felt weird as I was the only person around!
This is along the moat and next to the food spots.
It is about 1am. I walked behind Nagoya Castle and the shot I really wanted was there!!
After that walk around, it was cold and there was nobody… so I felt really alone. I started to walk back to Nagoya station and while doing so, I walked the Shotengai.
I loved how everything was, so I made not to check it out during the day.
