2023 Midway point

Make a list

Sometimes I just need to write down what is going on and that helps me focus on what needs to be address and how. The past 3 years have been fully of annoyance and disappointment, but also the changes that made it better.

Finally some movement on my projects…

CARSHOWS

I wasn’t planning to enter some events this year, but I decided to do JCCS and Nissfest (same weekend, different days) and I was invited to JAI as well.

Hopefully Project Leopard can be done by that time (it is currently July 19th and JCCS/Nissfest are in October) and so I can swap cars out if I need too. I do want to Autofashion’s VIPfest as well.

Convertible – 2024

This year (2023) I won’t be able to touch my convertible. Usually, I’ll go there for a few days, but it’s not gonna happen this year. The vert is low priority, but once I get done with other 2, I’ll focus on that too!

VIP DIPLOMAT

  • Adjust the toe – it has been off since last year
  • Adjust the height – it is slammed and I am not into it.
  • Replace with ABS knuckles and hubs
  • Install steering wheel
  • Install pedals
  • Cleaning up the body kit a bit.
  • Just changed oil
  • Changed transmission fluid due to a leak at the drain bolt. Needed a new crush washer and drain bolt
  • Fine tune the dash kit and paint marble
  • Figure what to do with the interior window trim – cloth or paint marble

Project Leopard

  • Pick up this weekend from Sakura Garage/AZ and bring to LA. (update – Sakura Garbage failed AGAIN!)
  • Hung said he will finish up the wiring.
  • Tidy up the engine bay: fuel lines, engine harness, bolt down everything and fluids.
  • Sid said he will get his homie to do the exhaust
  • Tune the engine
  • Wire up the digital dash and other gauges
  • Install other interior pieces
  • Thrash Racing seats arrive in August

MCR30 Estima

This van is still in Japan and I plan to get everything done in the next few months. I’m just making sure the Project Car has the budget to finish up.

  • Paperwork
  • Talk to logistics company (Vancouver BC)
  • Transport to Canada
  • Cooling system refresh (thermostat was bad) do in Japan
  • Maybe get some extra parts/ wheels installed.

Mazda Porter

Suenaga-san said I could have his Suzuki Every, but since it is rough condition, he said he will give me his Mazda Porter, which is really clean!
